I spent years wondering what I could write that would constitute a
"new century schoolbook" before I realized that the strange compulsion to make
web pages, self-publish and create e-commerce products was teaching me exactly what I needed from a schoolbook.
new century schoolbook started as a zine about electronic art, but quickly turned artistic,
diaristic, then e-commercial and then
non-commercial again.
Now new century schoolbook
exists, as it always has, as permission---a place where I'm allowed to experiment.
And the lessons are simply what this odd process and
compulsion has taught me.
